There always seems to be a current thread about the rapture or the tribulation, but we seldom talk about the millennial reign of Jesus as told to us in scripture.

If we were a million years in the future , IMO we will look back upon the 1,000 year reign and rule of God as the 2 nd most important period of time in man's entire history. These are the years when it became necessary for God to intervene in men's lives and establish His kingdom and government on earth.
Why?
Mankind is now on the brink of annihilating himself from the face of the earth. These are the last days of man's trial period where we see if we can live without God's help and guidance. World news and events would indicate that we ain't doin' so good. The events (possibly just before but definately) during the great tribulation force God's hand to move into man's day to day affairs.
For all atheists and agnostics wondering where God is in men's lives right now, here is part of your answer. God will not insert Himself into men's lives without invitation, or in this case, to preserve His plan for man as given to us in His Word, the Holy Bible. God cannot and will not allow man to exterminate himself. There will be eternal generations of mankind on the earth according to God's plan.
The 1,000 years after the tribulation will be spent with God in charge. His ultimate goal will be the elimination of sin and spiritual death from disobedience and sin. This will be accomplished and man will be reinstituted to a physical and spiritual state as they Adam and Eve were before the fall. This is not an easy task, taking 1,000 years for man to freely choose God over self. Man's dominion over the earth will be taken back from Satan and man will once again begin to live the way God hoped He would.
Speculate on what you think the world will be like- religion, politics, education, economy, medicine, science etc...
Will we still use faith? Will we still use the Bible or will it be unnecessary then? Will we have churches, synagogues and temples?
As Christians I've often heard how we will be helping the generations that follow us during this period of time, as though we were somehow a little better, wiser, stronger or "holier" than they. Let us remember that we are still sinners in need of our own sins and evil desires to be removed from our hearts, just like those we will help and serve! The 1,000 reign of Jesus will be a time for us also!
Your thoughts?

While I am in general agreement I wanted to comment on two points.

1. Revelation mentions new scrolls and it makes sense God has new instructions for living then, restoring the earth and helping the resurrected dead. The Bible would still be sued, justa s we use the OT today 200 years after the OT period ended. But we will get new directives.

2. We will have to change ourselves but it will not be without help and with no interference from Satan or his demons. Just our own imperfect inclinations, which we have to weed out.

We see that this is a time for healing and that included physical and mental.

NIV Revelation 22:1 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. 3 No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him.

During the Millenium, there will be no religions as we know them today. EVERY Christian denomination will be a thing of the past. Every other religion will be history. Mankind will live their life the way that Jesus Christ has always wanted us to live.
There will be no governments - or those that do exist will have VERY little to do because there will be no militaries, no guns or weapons of any kind (for swords shall be turned into ploughshares), no law enforcements, no crime, and most importantly, since Satan has been bound up, there will be no sin.
There will be no hunger, no greed, no hurting our fellow man in any way.

The FIRST Biblical prophecy will FINALLY be fulfilled. The 6th Day of Creation will have finished "and on the 7th Day, God rested".

Later, Satan will be let loose for a short time, and then there will be a, (IMO - literal) - New Earth and a New Heaven - meaning that man kinds reign on this planet will come to an end. The process of Creation will start all over again. Since God is forever, we have absolutely no idea if our Creation was the first, second, tenth, or 235th - nor do we have any idea of how many more will follow.

IMO, the 1000-year millennial period will demonstrate the world and life God intended from the beginning. By the time of the Millennium, the Great Tribulation will be over and Satan, sin, evil and worldly wickedness will have been put-down. In the world of that time, everyone will live in the love, grace and authority of the Living Lord, without the influences of evil and corruption.

The release of Satan for a short time at the end of the 1000-year period has always seemed like an enigmatic riddle to me, but, then, many of God's ways are mysterious. I know that God is always righteous, holy and just --- so, not knowing everything doesn't bother me.

My belief is that after 1000 years, the Tribulation Period will have been pretty much forgotten and mankind will have a short period of sinfulness again.

I'm with ya there... never understood why he would be released again. Why not just end it there?

Please remember the majority of mankind died before they had an accurate knowledge of Jesus, many with No knowledge.
So, the resurrected dead, those resurrected back to healthy physical life on Earth, will have the opportunity as Adam had to show who they would choose as Sovereign over them. Also, those who come through the great tribulation of Rev. 7 v 14 will have reached healthy human perfection of sound heart, mind and body and they too will have the opportunity to reject and show Satan who they have chosen as Sovereign over them.

After the very end of Jesus millennium-long day of reigning over Earth all who are living on Earth at that time frame will have shown themselves as worthy of everlasting life on Earth forever .- Psalm 37 vs 11,29

' The dead lived not '[ Rev. 20 v 5 ] meaning they will Not live eternally until after they have rejected Satan.
Those resurrected to heaven are already immune to destruction [ symbolic second death ]

There is no definitive answer to why Satan is released. What we know is there will be enough sinful hearted, unsaved rebellious people for Satan to rally for his final battle before being cast into the lake of fire. How anyone could rebel in a near perfect environment evidences the depth of man's sin nature. I wouldn't want to be one of them standing before The Great White Throne.

See the dispensations which Adam to Jesus God witness man be manipulated by the devil and his hoard running rough house over the world ................. The Jesus cross to the second coming was the grace period which God grace would be given and the key to heaven could be received , but the devil still had access to the world to manipulated it under the watch of the children of God who had the grace , so God witnessed his creation under these conditions .....................Then the 1000 year reign from the second coming of Jesus to the great judgment then the devil will not be in the earth and demons not in the earth manipulations man , so God will have His witness of His creation under these conditions .................. So just like the days after the flood with Noah when Noah cursed his son and invited the devil right back in the earth , so it will be at the time when man will curse during the 1000 year reign and invite the devil back in the earth , and look out for the man who brings the first curse , be similar to a Judas in heaven ............................. See there are many who believe Jesus already came but the question is the devil is still in the earth as there are hospitals and jails with police and wars and crime and hate and murder and division of people , where in the 1000 years reign there will be non of this

Dear Mat,
Those included in the 1st resurrection will be those "who had been beheaded because of the testimony of Yeshua and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years." (Rev 20:4) There is no trial period here, they, like Daniel 12:13, have already had their testing.

There are none resurrected to "heaven". Those that have been resurrected (Rev 20:4), reign on earth "with Christ for a thousand years".

Rev 20:4,"Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand ; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. "

Dan 12:13," But as for you, go your way to the end ; then you will enter into rest and rise again for your allotted portion at the end of the age."
