My Calvary Chapel is growing hugely and now has implemented all kinds of new and innovative media for its many functions and activities. Yet, when we started to grow they scrapped the old bulletin board where people (many over 50 and hurting) would sometimes look at the various business cards for networking purposes.
Do any of your churches keep a community board where they might post cards or even a "employment sought" section? I don't see why, as a church body, we can't have some type of casual posting or system to utilize one another if one has a need for a worker and another for a job. Wanted to run this by you folks for any input you might have. Thanks, brothers and sisters.

We don't have a network board, so I'm not much help. Glad your church is growing, same here. We have a new 27 year old pastor that will be completely taking over next month. He has already brought many 18-30 year old's in as assistant pastor with social media.

Nice thing about a small church--we're so small that if anyone needs a job, everyone knows about it. We even have a time of prayer requests in the service.

I have no idea what anything is called. Instead of someone getting up to read "announcements", they have a pre-recorded spot on a screen with a young, bouncy person talking and cuts to video as she's describing upcoming stuff - it's usually the pastor's daughter. There are also large "theme signs" in interesting prints and lines as we cover a book or chapter. He usually teachers in expository mode which is why I joined - verse by verse. Not about us; about God.
Your communion comment is interesting. As a former Plymouth Brethren member, I don't take communion at Calvary. Just can't with such a large body whom I don't know. Thanks for your response.
