There are some who like to think that the kingdom of God is within you, inside people but then why would Jesus say that no one can enter it unless they meet certain criteria ?
What He was saying is that the kingdom of God is among the people.
The righteous are the kingdom of God.

"The righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father."

Once Jesus was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, and he answered, "The kingdom of God is not coming with things that can be observed;
nor will they say, "Look, here it is!' or "There it is!' For, in fact, the kingdom of God is among you.

"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.
"

John 3:5 NRS
Jesus answered, "Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.

Matthew 6:33 NRS
But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well

Matthew 12:28 NRS
But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come to you.

You seem to be conflating spiritual matters with physical and they don't answer to the same laws. One may "enter into the Kingdom" by adopting its characteristics and then the kingdom is within, not a physical or political body present in the world, but a commitment to what that Kingdom represents.

No. The kingdom is not inside us. It's based on a misreading, perhaps intentional, perhaps not by people that either are incapable or unwilling to do sound exegesis of the text.

How about pull out your Bible and look at the context?

I did, did you check the word meaning? Compare to John 18:36? Consider the fact that the message is about living in community regardless of civil authority?

Just to be clear for us, and anyone lurking, we're talking Luke 17:21.

The context clearly indicates Jesus is talking about himself being among them.

The word means "within, inside, among". The question then, is "inside what?"

Is it within, or among, or inside each person? Or the group? The word "you" is plural--meaning a group. It's not him speaking to each person--but a group. The context, and the word study clearly indicates that he's saying the Kingdom is within the group.

No, it is not the context and word study that indicates that, it is doctrine for whatever reason. I just had a great Thanksgiving meal with some lovely people and at the end I said to them that the meal was now inside of them. Was it in the group as a whole, or each individual person?

Where is the kingdom of God,if you say among us, what does that mean?. I am hoping that you being a pastor that you should know and know by experience so that you can point the seeker to it.
