You read many posts and i mean many posts on this forum that do the opposite to what Luke 15:1 says. Many too on this forum believe when Jesus said things like "you are the light of the world" that he was speaking to believers, i challenge any of you of that belief to prove it. I have no doubt that he was saying it to all and anyone who had an ear to hear it, didn't matter if you are a publican, tax collector, prostitute, or homosexual you are the light of the world a city that cannot be hidden. This is the message that changed lives.
Yes, they believe Jesus was speaking only to believers who have somehow received the Holy Spirit through believing and confessing that Jesus is their savior. They are the only ones who can be the light of the world. Then in the same breath, they say Jesus was speaking to his disciples, who hadn't received the Holy Spirit and, as far as I know, had never confessed Jesus as their savior.

The sermon on the Mount is the law of Moses on steroids. It is not for us of the nations who are saved by grace.
That same law is written upon the hearts of all men, and it is that word/ seed that is in the hearts of all men which Jesus Christ speaks to and makes alive.

Really? So are you saying we believers of the nations have to do the sermon on the mount?

Have to? "Doing" the sermon on the mount (loving others) isn't something you want to do?

Do you not understood that all what Jesus taught there is contained in the 2nd greatest commandment..... Love your neighbor as yourself ?.

It is one thing to love others, not out of compulsion like one of the ten commandments and quite another to do it completely for love's sake.

Did you pluck out your eye or cut off your hand? You can't take one part of the sermon and apply it to you but leave out all the nasty stuff.

Don't forget all the curses of the law should you fail in any part.

Last I remember, we of the nations never cut a covenant with Yahweh concerning the law.

If this were true then those that were " The light of the world" were some of the same ones who conspired to have Jesus crucified. Doesn't make sense. The post brings this to mind. If one cannot accept their sin then the only thing left is to try to justify it .....

We all have walked in darkness at some point, not even knowing or having a clue that he lights every man than comes into the world. For many of the light we had light was darkness. The word of God is a light and that word is a seed, and that seed the seed of God is in all.

Scriptures says in him we live and move and have our being, how many knew that before the light of the world made that known to us ?, does it make it not true because we did not know it ?..
