Just curious what the Christians here think concerning this:
Did You Save Yourself, or Did God Save You?

did the life raft trown to me save me or did I swim to shore on my own?

I call them "strings". Mental strings/threads that help us to keep going. Where they "coded in" or did "you do the coding" to produce the protiens needed? a bit of both I should think.

What if you drowned and the lifeguard scooped you off the bottom of the pool and resuscitated you. Did you still save yourself?

As I was drowning a man threw me a life saver and I held on until I was pulled out of the water. Did he or I or both of us save me?

Jesus gave us salvation when he died for our sins on the cross but we still need to co-operate with God for our salvation. We can throw it back. If St. Paul was not sure of his salvation, I sure can't be. God did His part, now we need to do ours.

I can quote you hundreds of scriptures that make it absolutely clear that what you have posted is NOT what the bible teaches. We are not saved by our works in any way shape or form. We are just as dead "spiritually" as Lazarus was "physically" when Jesus called him to life. We have complete inability to "regenerate" ourselves. The work of salvation is performed on God's elect by God alone. The fallen will of man has nothing to do with it.
