did the life raft trown to me save me or did I swim to shore on my own?
I call them "strings". Mental strings/threads that help us to keep going. Where they "coded in" or did "you do the coding" to produce the protiens needed? a bit of both I should think.
"Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures." (James 1:16-18)
Jesus gave us salvation when he died for our sins on the cross but we still need to co-operate with God for our salvation. We can throw it back. If St. Paul was not sure of his salvation, I sure can't be. God did His part, now we need to do ours.

I can quote you hundreds of scriptures that make it absolutely clear that what you have posted is NOT what the bible teaches. We are not saved by our works in any way shape or form. We are just as dead "spiritually" as Lazarus was "physically" when Jesus called him to life. We have complete inability to "regenerate" ourselves. The work of salvation is performed on God's elect by God alone. The fallen will of man has nothing to do with it.
