This message is for Mike555 and others who have the opinion that we do not have to,obey Jesus to be saved, that if a person believes is Jesus as His Savior he or she has eternal security and will go to heaven when they die.

I do not understand how any of the Once Saved Always Saved groups take the position that if you believe on Jesus as your Savior, it is not necessary for you to keep His commandments. Jesus said at least twice in John ch. 14 that if you love him you will keep His commandments, . If we do not love Him and keep His commandments hoe can we enter ino eternal life.
And in Luke 6:[46] [b]And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?[/

See also Heb. 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Actually, it's a work in process, which is not yet completed.
If only man would stop trying to create God in his image?

I believe that when we water down the requirements of our Savior, Satan is quite satisfied with that.

But God was NOT made in man's image with man's weaknesses and frailties! The part of us that is in God's image is our Spirit . . . but our carnal appetites and weaknesses are from Satan . . . our internal serpent (reptilian brain). We struggle to overcome our inner drives using our Spirit out of agape love . . . but we are not always successful. What we need to satisfy our vengeance and anger, and sense of justice, etc. is NOT what God requires.

When it says we were made in God's image, it is speaking about having a rational mind, the ability to love and hate, creativity/imagination/design, sense of justice, compassion, mercy, fellowship, friendship, grace, possessing a will, self awareness, the ability to appreciate beauty, compose music, understand mathematics, capacity for intimacy etc... We were created in the image of God from the beginning, it is not really a work that is still going on as if we are becoming more enlightened. We just became tainted from sin and being disconnected from the being we were created to serve and love and worship.

Isn't hate connected with murder, which man has done from the beginning?

Hate what is evil.

You cannot love what is good without hating what is evil.

Yes. I can.
