The word "hell" is a mistranslation of "Sheol" (the grave) "hades" (the grave) "Gehenna" (a trash dump) and "Tartarus" (caverns).

No humans suffer in any of the aforementioned places.

Yes He did and for a good reason. But please note
He did not torture those people for ever.

In fact, He is going to save all of them, give them immortality and incorruption due to Christ's obedience of the cross.

Maybe by the time the resurrection finally rolls around, those in heaven will be so tired of sitting
on clouds playing their harps that they will rush for the exits of the pearly gates?

You must be referring to Revelation 6:9-11 ?

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.

They called out in a loud voice, "How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood, for we tire of playing our harps all day long"

Then each of them was given a new harp, and they were told to keep playing, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters, were killed just as they had been.

You are absolutely right about Jesus teaching about the reality of hell. Excellent post
Many people in our day like to soft-soap anything with which they disagree. But I believe that the words of Jesus are the words on which we will be judged when that final day comes.

Sin is, that which goes against the nature of God. All descriptions of Sin are negative. Hell was created for Sin, but God gave His Greatest GIFT to make a way of escape from Hell and Sin, His Son Jesus.

Hell is real and His Son Jesus did not die in vain. You can bet God will be true to all His promises concerning Hell.

God's Gift Jesus said He was the Way the Truth and the Life and that no man would come to the Father but by Him.

Religions don't save you.
TV Evangelists don't save you.
Popes don't save you.

~Jesus saves you!
