One does not obey by mere loving .
One obeys God by listening to His instruction via the Holy Spirit,
and then can have the direction how best to demonstrate God's love for others.
So long as one is governing self, and God is not doing the governing, Jesus Lordship is non existent in that individual. Matthew 7;21,22,23, John 15;
YOU judge the Bible as evil, ignorant, savage, barbaric etc. Jesus did not, and I do not. I mentioned Paul, John, Luke who walked with God and spent their lives preaching the Gospel, and you go right back to your tirade about ignorant savages.

since for many people the holy book is pure love, as God is pure love,
then clearly you misunderstand it.
a person is led in the way he wants to go....to love, or elsewhere. these types of posts are waaaaaaaaay over in elsewhere.
again i will say.....a path that brings someone closer to loving God is what the holy books are for
you do yourself a grave disservice by continuing to speak in such ugly terms, and if you are a walking advertisement for the path you represent (you claim it is Christ) then this example is harsh and bitter, and more likely to drive people away from God, than to draw them near. it's not about being right, and making everyone else wrong. it's about living God's love in our thought, word, and deed.
Stone the adulterer? That is pure love?
Raiding the camp of a neighboring tribe, circumcising them then KILLING them afterwards ? That is pure love?
Turning one's back on the least of us? That is pure love?
Twisting Christ's mission to LOVE GOD and LOVE NEIGHBOR into worthless words by attaching 10 other criteria? That is pure love?
Saying god uses EVIL for good??? That is pure love??
Refusing to question god for wanting a starship because whatever god asks is good, even when it is stupid? That is pure love??
Not know the difference between god and an angel of darkness who masquerades as light? That is pure love?
FEARING happiness and JOY in the belief that life here and now must be one of suffering? That is pure love?
You can't bring people to love by defaming love and trying to believe that savage and brutal barbarity is somehow love. The book is NOT Holy, God is and so is Jesus. Focus on the real examples of love, not the brutish and savage beliefs of primitives.

I just love how you slipped in the starship thing! I am convinced they simply do not READ what is actually in the Bible. You cannot read it and think everything in it is love!!! Pretending everything is love because it is supposed to be about God who IS love is just nuts!! Prior to Christ, they had no clue who God actually was.
