Here we go again! That verse has nothing to do with end times prophecy. It is part of the law of Moses that required the death penalty for homosexuality. Fundamentalist Christians refer to homosexuality as the ultimate sin in nearly every end-times discussion when in fact the Bible says nothing concerning it being a sign of the end times.
My mom tells me that I'm a sign of the end times and that my becoming a parent is "Revelations coming true before our eyes". She's nutty that way.
How many times throughout history has someone proclaimed that the end was near? Personally, I'm just waiting for all of you to finally get raptured or whatever it is that you think is going to happen. Maybe we can get some peace on earth then. (Yes, I'm just funning you, really...) In any case, if you think it's The End...just be the best person you can be. I know I try to do that every day, since for me, this life is all I get.
[quote=firstborn888;2800354]I was sure 2000 was going to be something special as far as dispensations - I mean wow - a clean 4k BC to 2K AD coming to an end? What an opportunity for something spectacular! Turns out - not. "
2000 was not actually 2000. The guy that figured out when to start counting messed up. The real 2000 year mark after Christ's birth was either earlier or later, I have forgotten which. Look in your Bible. It is explained in a footnote.
Why do people spend so much effort trying to figure out or assert when the end times are? Jesus said that no one will know when the end times are coming - not even Him. If we try to assert that we know when the end times are approaching, aren't we putting ourselves before Christ? People have been asserting this incorrectly for centuries always backed up with Biblical support. No one seems to get it. We do not know when end times are coming, we cannot know, we will not know. Anyone who asserts that they can tell that end times are near, or can predict when the end will occur, is speaking contrary to Christ's teachings.
What difference does it make anyway? I do not think that any of us are of the "Jesus is coming - look busy" mentality. So what would you change if you knew the end times are tomorrow? Change it now. You never know when the end times are coming, but you should already be living as if they are tomorrow.
The earth has not moved out of her place
The sun has not become 7 times brighter than 7 days.
The whole earth has never received a mark in that they could buy and sell
There has never been one world leader.
The Temple has not been rebuilt. The dome of the rock still sits there (islam)
1/3 of all the trees and fishes and men have not been vaporized.
Russia has not come down from the north with a billion buddies to anhilate Israel.
etc....
