The KJV translates Strong's H7585 (Sheol) in the following manner: grave (31x), hell (31x), pit (3x).
  1. sheol, underworld, grave, hell, pit
    1. the underworld
    2. Sheol - the OT designation for the abode of the dead
      1. place of no return
      2. without praise of God
      3. wicked sent there for punishment
      4. righteous not abandoned to it
      5. of the place of exile (fig)
      6. of extreme degradation in sin

Therefore when Jesus said "paradise" to the thief, the correct answer is he was speaking of heaven.
There are two parts of Sheol/Hades that Jesus illustrated in Luke 16. The part where Abraham and the other saints resided, those in that area followed Christ to heaven.

That's not the case now. It was before Christ's death and resurrection.

That's simply not the case concerning that there are two parts of Sheol/Hades.

The rich man (who represents those who are unbelievers) are sent to hell aka Sheol\Hades where they are in uncomforted torment.

Lazarus (who represents all those who are believers ... including Abraham & other saints ) are in heaven aka paradise.

"Certainly, we live, move, and exist because of him. As some of your poets have said, ‘We are God’s children.'"

When Jesus ascended, Ephesians 4 says he led a host of captives. That is from the paradise side. The Hell side remains unchanged - until Revelation 20:13

If you had, surely you would not condemn anyone, or would you?

Be aware that satan will use the scriptures, and twist the meaning to fit his own agendas.
Matthew 4;
Jesus came to obey the Father, not men nor satan.
By example we are to obey God,
not men self or satan.
This is why Jesus provided the Holy Spirit, so those that love God can be obedient.
With out obedience to God, one is yet in sin, doing their own thing, even using the scriptures to justify ones self.
Jesus lordship is no where to be found in them.
Knowing the truth and living the truth are two very different things.

The dead experience nothing, not even a thought.
And the view of an immortal soul is another fallacy.

Well your answer was not a scriptural one, but man made. So i would say you are poisoning the pot.
