If you want to sin and the reason you are not is fear of Hell, you are NOT pleasing God, period. God wants us not to sin because we love Him and each other. It would hurt us to hurt or harm anyone else through our selfishness. Adultery is sin because it hurts our spouse, NOT because God made it a rule. That is true of ALL sin. It always involved hurting others by our selfishness and lack of agape love.
I agree with this.
While we all sin, I am very careful not to intentionally. Not out of fear of Hell, or God, but because I don't want to hurt him, and I know it hurts him when we sin. He's my Daddy. In a very real sense, and I never want to disappoint or disrespect him. I love him too much for that, and when I realize I do mess up, I'm quick to apologize.
