I'm sure you have slept soundly knowing loved ones are going to be eternally tormented. After all they are only getting exactly what they deserve.
Those are your words, not mine. You assume the moral authority because you don't believe Hell exists. Nonsense! God alone decides if there is a Hell and if so, who goes there. The only thing you and I can do is share the gospel, as Jesus instructed us.

Ok, eternal hell exists, how do you deal with the knowledge that loved ones who do not believe in Jesus like you end up there?. This is a perfectly reasonable question.
As long as you unthinkingly refuse to even acknowledge the contradictions and inconsistencies there is little hope that you will understand God, jimmie. You do NOT have a coherent understanding of who Jesus IS and what His characteristics are that represent God. It is so very, very sad.
Since the prophets, Jesus and the Apostles all gave the same message (John 3:16), I will believe that over a message constructed by selecting only some of Jesus' words.

NO, they did NOT give the same message. You just ignore the differences and do not even try to test the spirit of anything attributed to Jesus. Anything that fails the test against the Holy Spirit of agape love is NOT from Jesus or God, jimmie. Do I have to remind you of the lying scribes???

Yes, they did. The prophets pointed forward to Jesus and the Apostles point back to Him. The entire Bible is about God redeeming His people. Jesus provided the vehicle, through His redemptive work on the cross.
I will NOT cut Jesus off mid-sentence, as you have.
You have already engaged in speculation! Your long post about the supposed meaning of this story was pure speculation. Considering all Jesus said about the afterlife, this story is not much different.
If it was speculation then there are thousands upon thousands, possibly even millions of believers out there who have precisely the same "speculations" as I do. Or did you think I came up with this interpretation on my own? If so, then thanks for the compliment, but I am not nearly so astute.
You have been shown the verses which prove that Christs parables were intentionally meant to be obscured to His enemies. If they are to be taken at face value, then how was Christ's message obscured to His enemies at all? If Christ's intent was to have His parable convey the very same meaning about the afterlife that the Pharisees already believed, then what you are essentially saying is that Jesus was in agreement with the Pharisees. That doesn't make much sense to me!
