Well I will be a man wrapped in web that could never find the spider, I have never quoted that scripture before, now I wonder how it escaped me, thanks.
FEAR and TREMBLING, this is EXACTLY what I do, If somebody were searching for absolution, no man has searched for it more than I, and I still don't know, I am still in fear and trembling.
Geez, I hope not. The carnal mind is like a spider, binding us with soul ties to this realm, and then paralyzes us with the venom of sin, and then when we are completely stopped from ever moving with the Spirit again, it comes and sucks the very life out of us. They don't have EIGHT legs to MOVE with, and compound (not single) eyes to see with, for nothing. Peace
Why does your thread topic say "many" when you only know one?
I don't know any Christians who profess both that sex before marriage is bad but porn is good.
I don't know any either. And have never heard of one. Until this thread.
Though many could point to verses in Bible versions that plainly oppose fornication, but could they find one that mentions pornography or looking at it?
The OP didn't state why he was looking at porn, or if he was masturbating to it. Someone could look at it for art appreciation, research, their job or to learn about sex in preparation to marriage.
So is merely looking necessarily a sin? In today's world it may be difficult to avoid seeing it completely.

See, this is the problem I have with certain aspects of Christianity.
The reality is that sex is something that men/women think about, enjoy thinking about it. Desiring another person is completely normal. It's reality.
Pornography is a very broad term. Many would agree that it depends on the context.
The bottom line is that people look at sexual images and there's generally nothing wrong with it.
Back in biblical times women typically were pregnant at age 14, 15, 16. We find that repugnant today, but back then it was reality. Were all those people sinning?
I don't agree with this. Jesus paid the death penalty for our sins at the cross. So why would we be required to pay that debt again? You are teaching that we have to work to maintain our salvation.
Yes, you have to work to maintain Salvation. Not by the works of the Law, nor by the works of men, but by God working through a believer; and it's through His grace that this happens.
If I gave you a free car, but you neglected it by leaving it outside unlocked, would the thief not come and steal your free gift? Likewise, satan stands ready to steal someone's Salvation. It is written:
1 Peter 5
[8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
[9] Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
I know of a Christian man well into his 40's and still a virgin. He is adamant on waiting until marriage. We had discussions on viewing porn and he was open about his viewing habits. I don't understand the fact that he refuses to have sex before marriage bit thinks it's okay to view porn. I don't see the sin being worse than the other.
He is part of Christendom ( so-called Christian mostly in name only ) and that is why his damaged conscience allows him to view porn ( porneia ) - 1st Timothy 4:2
Sin is either: on purpose or not, willfull or not, premeditated or not, intentional or not, by accident or not.......

...And Satan was successful in 'stealing', so to speak, the salvation of those of Hebrews 6:4-6; Matthew 12:32.
We are to endure to the end according to Matthew 24:13-14.
Endure faithful to the end of one's life, or endure faithful to the soon coming of Christ's 1,000-year governmental rulership over Earth starting after the ' time of separation ' on Earth as mentioned at Matthew 25:31-33,37

The English word 'fornication' comes from the Greek word Porneia which is where we get in English pornography (porn).
As far as Bible verses ' loose conduct ' is considered as wrong at 1st Peter 4:2-3; 2nd Peter 2:2; 2:7; 2:18.
Any thoughts about Romans 13:13; 2nd Corinthians 12:21; Ephesians 4:19, and Galatians 5:19-21

LOL! Thank you for this.
ETA: The LOL was for the "rationale." But nice job on the extended metaphor.
