I have a perspective. I believe it's wrong regardless of whether it is legalized or not. If prostitution were legalized, fornication would still be wrong. It's still sin, because the pleasure takes precedence over our relationship with God. We seek out that pleasure, and we stop doing his will.
That's a Christian perspective. And it's not deep. It's just my belief that anything that causes us to develop a relationship with pleasure that interferes with us serving God is a problem. And I'm guilty as charged. If you spend hours on end with a coloring book and a box of crayons you have the same problem as someone that won't serve because they would rather get high.
What happened to the obvious, like Mark 8:34, or Isaiah 53:1-12? That doesn't sound like someone with other priorities to me. It's easier to have a good time and be accepted by the world, than to be ostracized for being square.

That you would trivialize drug use by comparing it with children coloring, is telling, but absurd.
Aren't you already ahead of me on that project? After all, following many lights/spirits instead of the One candle set upon a hill ("coincidentally" the menorah is set upon a hill), is sorta the same thing isn't it? Peace

I do not operate from a foundation of fear, but rather that of moderation and self-discipline.
I would say I have more than a passing familiarity with what Jesus saidGod was concerned about but I am hard pressed to think of any verse that concerned itself with marijuana.
you also argued loud and long in another thread about how there is nothing wrong with pornography.
your infallible inner guide to holiness at work again? self-appointed spokesperson for God?
a good litmus test is "would you trust this person to babysit your children"
my answer is, I'd run the other way as fast as I could, and not let this person anywhere near any children or teenagers.

The problem is, when you remove the foundation (the law) you are off the rock and swimming with sharks. A lot of people refuse to accept that fact, and dive headlong into whatever suits their fleshly minds, and worse yet encourage others to do so. Then down the road after both legs have been bitten off, they don't understand why they can't walk, much less run. Peace

Perhaps, you are confusing the issue with a preconceived notion or opinion.
No one here has said, "Get the drug addict to babysit the children."
However, should a person negate taking VICOPROFEN (Hydrocodone/ibuprofen) for their pain.
Just because you may disagree with its minimal effects in reducing their pain and suffering?
Or, because you classify it as some sort of drug, strictly for partying?

A mistake in identity, humans are not in the sharks diet plan.
As a dive-master, you should meet a friend of mine:

Explain how you walk in the Spirit, then we will decide whether the sharks have been munching on you or not. I will not be surprised if you refuse to answer, that's par for the course for you, when asked to explain how things are worked out in your life.
Tell that to the survivors of the USS Indianapolis, for a start. Then duck, lest you find your head swiftly removed from your shoulders.
On the plus side, nice picture. Believe it or not, I nearly, twice, in my life was going to take diving lessons, something I always wanted to do. The first, with the State policeman who taught it to their would be divers, the second with a private teacher. Unfortunately, something happened to negate it happening both times, sigh. That, and flying lessons. Maybe He didn't want me getting eaten by a shark that couldn't read the menu that day. Who knows. Life happens, and you have to make choices.
Great that you do, though. Thanks for sharing that. Peace
