Well, now Mike has you going. He apparently didn't read verses 6ff of his Hebrews citation: 6Now, however, Jesus has received a far superior ministry, just as the covenant He mediates is superior and is founded on better promises. 7For if that first covenant had been without fault, no place would have been sought for a second. 8But when God found fault with the people, He said:
“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord,
when I will make a new covenant
with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah....
On another thread SumTingy mentioned that God wrote the law on our hearts. I asked him what God had written on his heart but I don't think he saw my post or maybe it's supposed to be a secret. Is it supposed to be a secret? It would be nice to get a wide range of answers though and see if there is any consensus.
Where does it say that G-d writes anything on your heart?...

This is what is in effect now.
Again, the New Covenant, which was made possible by the cross, is to Israel. Not to the church. This is plainly stated in Jeremiah 31:31. The New Covenant to Israel replaces the Mosaic Covenant which also was to Israel. And it doesn't go into effect until the Millennial kingdom.
Now, while Gentiles in the church today can be blessed on the basis of the New Covenant because Jesus established the basis for the New Covenant on the cross, no way can it be said that at the present time that there is a universal and direct knowledge of God for either Israel or the church so that no one needs to be taught because it is written on their hearts. This is a future occurrence once Jesus returns.
No way can it be said that Jeremiah 31:34 is valid today.
Jeremiah 31:34 ''They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,'' declares the LORD, ''for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.''

Or he doesn't know. Which is a shame. The law is the law of Spirit of Life... Which reveals iself in love.
Because the love of God has been poured forth in our hearts through the Holy Spirit that hats been given to us.

To us Gentiles He wrote "Hi, this is JC. You have been invited to my wedding. Will you come? Bring the garment I gave you".
Unfortunately many won't show up.

While the Jeremiah reference states that the covenant is with Israel, all the NT references indicate that it is first offered to physical Israel and then extended to all who then become spiritual Israel. Every reference in Hebrews is to a covenant that is in effect now. Sorry for your theology, we ARE under the principle of love and not under the form of law.

The church is not 'spiritual Israel.' That false concept comes out of replacement theology. The church is in no way fulfilling God's promises to Israel. God's program for the church is different than His program for Israel. God has made no covenant with the church.
And once again, it is painfully clear to anyone with open eyes that there is not at this time in human history a universal knowledge of God written on men's hearts so that no one needs to be taught about God.

That is not consitent with the parable. Remember it is a parable too, not some literal thing that is going to happen in the future how you have been deceived to believe..... What do you think the purpose of a parable is?
