It’s natural for us to request God’s attention for those close to us. But there’s intercession that goes beyond the wish-list for our nearest and dearest. Father Zossima, in The Brothers Karamazov, pleads for the unknown souls who face their end alone: “
Remember too, every day and whenever you can, to repeat to yourself, ‘Lord, have mercy on all who appear before you today.’”
But then, Russian writer Dostoyevsky is a "foreigner" and perhaps incapable of "spreading the gospel" in the manner you believe.
