John the Baptist had a calling of God , which would usher is the Messiah Jesus Christ .... Where John the Baptist came during a time of apostasy where faith in God by the people very weak ..... Elias or Elijah was a prophet of God and teacher of a prophet school who had a calling of God during a time of apostasy in the people ..... Jesus called John the Baptist Elias because He had a similar spirit of God who lead Him in a prophetic calling

"Elijah is indeed coming and he will restore everything". (Matthew17:11)

I'm here. Follow me.

Anyone who drinks the water I give him shall never become thirsty. The water I give him shall be like a well inside him rising up to provide eternal life.

As scripture says;Whoever believes in me shall have a river of living water flowing from his heart.

From the believers heart shall flow the water I give which shall provide for them eternal life.

I am not one to parrot the Scriptures, as there is a deeper meaning to what is being said.
After all, Jesus did not take scripture literally either. Nether are they equally authoritative.
