Oh I never saw that passage...I just would never support cutting down a tree...aren't there enough fires....and ruining of the forests in South America?
I dislike very much seeing those huge trees cut for DC and NYC. And for what?
"and for what?"To be grown and cut down to be sacrificed to Santa, the god of Christmas.
I celebrate Christmas because the first Christmas was a celebration.
Luke 2
“In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
I see No mention of the first Christmas celebration in Luke 2.
I see mention about the birth announcement, and of the coming of Messiah - Luke 3:15.
Jesus did Not become Messiah on his day of birth, but on his day of baptism.
Besides, at Luke 22:19 Jesus tells us how he wants us to remember him.
Which of the Apostles spoke of celebrating His Birth?
Or, in what way did the Apostles celebrate birthdays ?
Since Jews did Not celebrate, then the Apostles would Not have celebrated even their own birthday yet alone Jesus'.
Were you ever or are you now a Jehovah's Witness?
I love to remember that day my children were born to me.
Seems as if you are trying to say Jehovah's Witnesses do Not love to remember the day their children were born ?
I don't see the connection between loving to remember, and having the child be the center of attention for a day.
Perhaps going to the ' horses mouth ', so to speak, would shed some light on the subject at www.jw.org.
or even at Jehovah's Witnesses Broadcasting.

Jer 10:1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
Jer 10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
Jer 10:3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
Jer 10:4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
Jer 10:5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
