I think the story is probably about arranged marriages. The parents try to mold their children in their own image, and they would have naturally wanted to pick spouses for their children. It's a humorous story I think.

the Image of God is "ANOTHER" of one self. hence where the term "Adam" come from, meaning "ANOTHER" of God.

H120 אָדָם 'adam (aw-dawm') n-m.
ruddy i.e. a human being (an individual or the species, mankind, etc.).
[from H119]
KJV: X another, + hypocrite, + common sort, X low, man (mean, of low degree), person.
Root(s): H119

and the Greeks identify this "ANOTHER" as G243 Allos.
G243 G2087 ,allos heteros, both have a difference in meaning, which despite a tendency to be lost, is to be observed in numerous passages. Allos expresses a numerical difference and denotes another of the same sort;" heteros expresses a qualitative difference and denotes "another" of a different sort.

so, the Lord Jesus is the "ANOTHER" of God, the Spirit, shared in his own image, "FLESH", which he made.

No--we're not physically in God's likeness, because God is spirit. We aren't. It refers to the mind, or the intellect. God had just spent 5 days creating animals and plants -- and man is not like them. We are different, because we have an intellect like God.

Here's a great article on it. https://www.gotquestions.org/image-of-God.html

FWIW and right, wrong, or indifferent, think the "traditional" understanding of (most) Christians is that we are "the image and likeness of God" because we not only have will and intellect but also an immortal soul/spiritual component---supposedly all attributes of God which He is supposed to possess as eternal Creator and "Father" and we possess as His creation and "children".

God is spirit and man is spirit with a soul and body , our natural senses aren`t equipped to see in the spirit , but man is still spirit ..... when God saves a person then God`s spirit abides on the spirit of man which can develop the soul of man

The body and spirit are connected in one physical organism.
