This will sound cold but we were not put on this earth to have peace, joy and bliss. We were put on this earth to give God the glory, the truth is we ALL deserve death and hell but God's goodness shows us His love and mercy. Even if we were going through the same just like many of our brothers and sisters in Christ are all through this world. We will rejoice in His name because of His promise. Our life here is but a vapor.

I disagree with those sentiments as well. I don't rejoice over this, one bit. We as humans are not to know when Jesus will be coming. So what if this isn't his time, and all these people we praise that are being killed died for nothing?

It doesn't make any sense to me. War is not to be applauded. As a conservative Catholic, I am absolutely against the Iraq war. I am against most wars. Wars bring suffering and death to many thousands of people.

We rejoice the atoning sacrifice on the cross. We do not rejoice the killing of hundreds of people.

No one likes war but war is not a sin in of itself and it is sometimes necessary.

Actually that was sort of a general response, not really to you in particular. Shouldn't have quoted you. Sorry for the confusion.

I wonder how many prophesiers, seers, fortune tellers would be ecstatic, giddy and joyfully accepting the killings and bloodshed of the people in the Gaza strip if they were there ..
