Its been a while since Ive posted anything other that my normal "off the wall comments" on here, one..Ive been really busy, and two..as most you know, I had to have some test run at the doctors office..and Ive gotta say I cant stand to get ANYTHING done at the Docs office because.. 1. Im a guy (LOL) we all hate going to the Dr and 2. I havent been to the Dr for anything in this century (thank God). Call me crazy, but as I was in the Docs office..waiting..(lots of waiting) I had a peace that I can only say came from God..
When I was younger, around 11 or 12, there was a gravel road close to our house that no one lived on, and I spents hours and hours on that road..it was peaceful, there was a creek about a 1/2 mile down the road with a few shade trees and lots of wildlife..well as I was sitting in the waiting room for the second time..the thought of that place came to mind, and a warm sunny day..and I remembered the times that I used to go down to the creek and pray, talk to God, throw rocks in the water...Long story short...I dont think Ive ever been as calm as I was Tuesday..I had a peace that only could come from Jesus..
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!!

This is a wonderful idea for a thread Arguy..
I have a peaceful place from my childhood that I return to now and then when pressures of life get me down and I am having a little trouble focusing on my Lord..I go back to a beautiful summer day in the hills of southern Indiana..We were dirt poor tenent farmers..That day, I was about seven, I was looking for berries with my three siblings. They ran off and left me, as usual. I was crossing the pasture where a couple of milk cows were quietly chewing away and swishing their tails. I sat down to watch them. I can still feel the warmth of the sun, the buzz of the flies and the smell of woodsmoke coming from below where I sat. I could see my mon bent over the wash tub scrubbing clothes on her washboard..She was singing..I can't remember the song, but such a peace came over me and has always renewed my peace and closeness to God and my mom who has been gone for almost twenty years. She had a beautiful voice and would come to our room every night and sing all four of us to sleep..Moms singing always brings me peace
Arguy, it's great to hear how our prayers were answered! That peace the Lord gives is, truly, beyond understanding or explanation! It's definitely more than just "power of positive thinking".... it's a sign of God's love and care. "I am with you."
