Yes and that was pre computer controls. We still had a lingering sense of morality, and before the middle east had nukes.

We recovered, moved on and now experiencing another bump in the road. Remember also, back then a prophecy "expert" by the name of Hal Lindsey, recognizing the trying times they were, capitalized on the moment and wrote a wildly popular book titled The Late Great Planet Earth in which he made some predictions as well as some silly conclusions. Hard to believe he is still featured as some kind of expert on prophecy matters. Oh, and the earth is still here 34 years later.

Okay, let's talk about something that has relevance and truth.
Today on Prophecy in the News, they had Mark Hitchcock on the program who has written a book called "The Late Great United States". I am going to get this book and read it, and I challenge anyone who has questions about the importance of the US in end time prophecy to get this book and read it.
God is good, and Jesus saves. And FORGIVES. If you are not saved or a Christian, or you just don't believe in God, then there is no need to drone on about what's going to happen to you. You've heard it. It's your choice.
I mean, let's focus on the pressing issues. We are in the last days, and anyone in America who is a Christian has questioned this very thing at one point or another about America.
Since I haven't read the book we can't really discuss it at this point, but I want to put forth that challenge so we can discuss it. Right now, we can all state what it is we believe about it.
Mr. Hitchcock has an interesting take on the Rapture also, but let's just save that for the book discussion also.
Why is America not mentioned in the Bible? Is America the "Mystery Babylon"? Is America mentioned symbolically, or not at all??? Why?

1.)I believe the USA is mentioned in the Bible. I think 'she' is the "isles" mentioned in Isa. 49:1 and other places.
2.) No I don't think the USA is mystery Babylon. I believe that is a "system," not a 'place.'

With all due respect Mshipmate, how does one glean the U.S from just that one verse? It's this type of exegetical abuse that allows for some very wild conclusions.
