This small insight of the attributes of God and yet is deeper than most of you have ever ventured in your walk with God. This is not for the feint of heart. Some of you if not most will call it heresy but it is scriptural. You be the judge? Most Christians get the watered down version of who God is, therefore most Christians do not a get an accurate picture of God. Why did God say we are at enmity with Him? that man would never seek God...I don't know.....the God most people talk about sounds "ALL" really wonderful from a finite being's perspective except when you talk to atheists, so what could the bible be talking about? why would not man on his own pursue such a wonderful God? Maybe atheists see something that many Christians refuse to believe?

Fundy: I have been laying my old birdbrain head on His fiery bosom for many moons now & feel quite comfortable doing so!

We all know the apostle John's statement that God is love. But what else does the Bible specifically declare God to be with the terms, "God is..." or "the Lord is..."?

From Numbers...

The Lord is longsuffering, and of great mercy

From Deuteronomy, we get...

God is a consuming fire.

God is a merciful God.

God is a jealous God.

In Samuel, Hannah says...

The Lord is a God of knowledge

2 Chronicles reports that...

God is gracious and merciful

Psalm 47 declares...

God is the King of all the earth

Psalm 75 says...

God is the judge

Psalm 103 declares that...

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

Psalm 111 says...

The Lord is gracious and full of compassion.

Psalm 116 says...

God is gracious and merciful

Psalm 145...

The Lord is good and righteous

Isaiah says...

The Lord is a God of judgment.

The Lord is our judge, our lawgiver and our king.

Jeremiah says

God is the true God, the living God and an everlasting king.

Nahum says...

The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power.

Daniel 9 declares...

God is righteous in all his works

In the Gospel of John, Jesus says...

God is a Spirit

To the Corinthians, Paul says...

God is faithful

God is true

From Hebrews...

God is a consuming fire.

The apostle John writes that...

God is light

God is love

Peter says...

The Lord is faithful

Interesting video.....going to listen to it a couple more times! But there is a lot there to ponder and pray about!
I like what he said at the end....that the surest signs of regeneration..... is when one loves all of God's attributes even that which are most reprehensible to the natural man mind in revealing Himself to mankind of His glory and love Him without editing Him to what we want to see!
As we see so much of the human heart does these days!!

Blessings

Would you agree that the Bible also declares that Jesus is God?

You are right to call Him a wonderful God , but what is wonderful about a God who supposedly sending millions of people to a lake of fire that eternally burns and torments people . You would never entertain the thought of Hitler gaining access to heaven after He sent countless to their death through frying them in ovens and yet you can't understand why the world does not pursue the God who is going to fry countless more than Hitler could ever dream.Go figure

I would say one of the surest signs that a man is born from above is

7Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son[b] into the world that we might live through him. 10This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for[c] our sins. 11Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

13We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. 14And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. 16And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. 17In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. 18There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 19We love because he first loved us. 20If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. 21And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.

ET is irrelevant, the bible is clear that man wants NOTHING to do with God. So please address scripture.

This responce tells alot, when some one doesn't like being a sinner instead of Falling on there face and repenting it is easier to change the way they want God to see his creation. Hitler as tested by 1 John went to Hell not because he killed 6 million jews or any other wicked deed it is the heart that will be judged my friend and with out a daily focus on Jesus Christ we all fall short of the Glory of God!

Exacty that is why ALL the emphasis is on Him
