I am a non-catholic and appreciate this forum for the education as well as as any other places that are not limited to narrowed views or prescribed formulas. Thank you so much for your concern.
Guess he doesn't know how to do research on the internet or he is afraid to!
Worship or intercession it is forbidden to do either to anything or anyone but God. You are praying to her for nothing she has no power to hear you or answer any prayer. And frankly I find it blasphmous to do so, and an extreme insult to God.
So why don't you just leave and quit insulting the Mother of God.

So... you cll Jesus God so you can worship him? What if it turns out he is just a man ( a glorious man) that carried the word of God like Mary carried him in her womb. What then? Have you been guilty of idolatry?
Some of these arguments are so distructive to my soul
Many of us come from different faith traditions, and instead of sharing our unique methods of drawing closer to Jesus, we'd rather condemn practices that are foreign.
Why can't we agree that no one has a monopoly on the truth, and true lovers of Christ from many traditions may offer something.
Seperate the wheat from the chaff.
Don't yank out all the weeds, as you may damage the other good fruit.
We all have the capacity to communicate with our creator, and we articulate that communication in unique ways.
Possibly, if we stopped to listen, we may just be edified.
As much as I may disagree with some folks doctrinal beliefs on this forum, I have NEVER helped myself or anyone else argueing over doctrine or tradition.
When I try to listen, as Jesus would listen to my fellow mormons, fundamentalists, universalists, protestants, catholics, muslims, jews etc.. I find we all have the same God hunger.
Let's tear down this tower of babal and start listening to the spirit of God, and not the spirit of confusion.
Now regarding Mary. Has anyone bothered to ask a Catholic, what is so great about Mary? Why do you hold Her in such esteem.
I'd tell you that I'm awed that God chose this young jewish girl of all humans to impregnate with the His Spirit.
She carried Jesus in Her womb. She nursed Him. He shares Her DNA. She raised Him, protected Him, and ultimately gave Him away to a horrific death that He chose, and she sat by and watched.
She is "Full of Grace".
We humans look up to sports heros, presidents, scholars etc.
In my mind they ALL pale in comparison to Her.
Do I worship Her? In the true biblical sense of "worship" absolutley not.
But reflecting on Her life, dedication, surrender, intimate relationship with her Son is a powerful example and source of inspiration for me.
She is not God, and worshiping Her would be the sin of idolatry. And any good Catholic would tell you that.
If any thought or reflection or prayer surrounding Mary does not bring you closer to Her Son Jesus Christ, then it is fruitless.
Mary does not wish to take anything whatsoever away from the glory of Her Son. Quite the opposite.
Before anyone condemns praying with Mary, they should understand first our belief that ALL souls are eternal. And All souls that are part of the Body of Christ can and should be in communion. regardless if they are here with us, around the corner, on the other side of the planet, or in heaven.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful part of your soul with us. I too hold The Virgin Mary in High, High esteem.
How could ONE not.
We are all to be ONE, so ONE DAY we will all worship in ONE.
I believe Mary is ONE with God and Jesus.
If those that Overcome have the privelege to sit on the Throne of Christ, who can say Mary didn't Overcome and be granted the Promise. May we all worship in Love and Truth.
I've never knowingly prayed with Mary, but i may give it a try...

An excellent post from a Catholic who I honor for his patience and wisdom in answering posts asking questions about Catholicism..I have seen many threads on this forum about Catholicism and most have had to be closed , because they wound up insulting and bashing our Catholic brothers and sisters who worship God, who believe in His son and pay honor to His mother.
My gramma (on mom's side) and all her family were Catholic, Irish Catholic to be exact..I have attended many masses with that side of the family, and it was my gramma, along with my mom who told me the bible stories of Jesus and taught me to pray to God..Never, never, never did they teach me to worship Mary...I was told that she is to be honored because she was chosen among all women to bear the son of God..Indeed Mary is a special woman..
Dear Catholics again I meant no harm. I was fascinated and desired to understand the appearances of the Virgin Mother and the Miracles of the sun. The miracle of the dancing sun (1913?) with the three little children was witnessed by over 100,000 people, it was real. Something is always taking place at Medjugorji (gotta to check the spelling) is it righteous is what I am after cause I'd like to go there one day when I get enough courage and see for myself without being blasphemus.

Well if you read the Bible you would see that it's either God's way "or the highway" as you put it.
Problem with that is 3 religions worship God, so it is your way or the highway. I am not a Christian, but I love God and worship him in my tradition. I do read my Bible, but it is not your Old testament. It is the first Bible, the Hebrew Tanakh. It is where your bible came from..
