Probably one of my favorite vehicles in terms of styling. Absolutely original, amazing design, and very unique.
Before I bought my '05 Corvette, I thought about a Prowler. They had one for sale at a luxury car dealership in Scottsdale at the time, I test drove it and was woefully unimpressed. The automatic is awful, the V6 engine is gutless, and the interior quality is atrocious. With that being said...you get more looks driving a Prowler than you do a Ferrari or any super-exotic. People just seem to love the look and are very curious about the vehicle.
We drove a friends. Steers like a rock and has about as much horsepower. Cool to look at...crap to actually drive.
I really wish Chrysler or Dodge would do a "2nd Generation" Prowler and actually do it RIGHT this time. Even if they charged $60K or $70K for one...I imagine they'd have a fairly large collective interest in seeing a Prowler done "properly". Give it a unique interior, add a manual transmission, get the 392 HEMI (470 hp) to slap in the engine bay, and tweak the design a small bit to account for modern tastes...badda bing badda boom...I think it'd be one HELL of a fun vehicle to drive. The original Prowler only weighed in at 2800 lbs and even if the new one added 100 or 200 lbs to account for the stronger components/HEMI engine...it'd be a beast to drive.

so im moving to california and i wanted to get a convertible.
i dont want to get a car everyone else has so i boiled down to the Chrysler Prowler.
its old, i know, but do any of you have any knowledge of it?
for example, i see one for 30k with only 11,430 miles on it.
do these run good? is it expensive to maintain it? should i not buy it?
i'd be putting down 20k and financing the rest.
please let me know ur thoughts
There's nothing about the Prowler I like, but that's personal preference.
If you want a convertible, and something unique, why not look at a restored vintage car? You might even score one for a lot less than $30,000. Here is an example...

That Engine swap looked like a Pita.I wonder if there is a way to directly bolt in a 5.2l/5.9l Magnum V8 with out all of the custom modifications?
Mate the 5.9l magnum with a supercharger/Turbo and a good Tune it becomes a beast.
