One of best record stores in the midwest is located in the Northside area of Cincinnati. Shake It Records is great.

Everybody's Records, on Montgomery in Pleasant Ridge.

For used stuff, Second Time Around on Brown Street in Dayton is worth the trip.

Are you talking about vinyl, or just music in general? Obviously there are tons of places where you can buy music.....personally, I find Best Buy or Barnes and Noble to be the best places for new music. But as others said, the best places for music overall would be the places they've already mentioned.

Believe it or not, if you're looking for vinyl, 8-Tracks or cassettes, you can also find a lot of great deals in antique malls.....for example, the Ohio Valley Antiques Mall in Fairfield has a lot of booths that offer a ton of old LPs and the like.

Then yeah....Everybody's Records.

Likewise, as I mentioned, check out the Ohio Valley Antique Mall in Fairfield. There are a number of booths selling vinyl. Of course, they're used. I've heard some artists and labels are releasing on vinyl again, but I have no idea who or where you'd buy new LPs.

Default Mole's Record Exchange and More

For vinyl you also might want to try Mole's Record Exchange at 111 Calhoun St. near the Univ. of Cincinnati. . . .

Phil's Music in Erlanger sells vinyl as well. Always worth the occasional stop.

I've also snagged some pretty good stuff -- surprisingly enough -- at the various Half-Price Books locations around town. I've picked up some great, old Smithsonian jazz and folk collections there, really cheap too. (I suspect the kids working those stores don't understand the value of some of this stuff the way a record-store clerk would . . . )

If you're willing to travel a little, Gem City Records in Dayton's Oregon District is also a possible destination for you . . .

Hope this info helps. What genres are you looking for?

Everybody's Records in Pleasant Ridge still carries the vinyls as well as needles for your turntable player. Another place to find records in Half-Priced Books.
