I am not familiar with the area. I am looking to get locals opinions of Amelia, OH and Peirce twp as well as Forrestville / Sherwood Village.

What are the long term prospects in these regions, recommendations on specific areas. Plenty of jobs and a families friendly environment?

This is only my opinion and keep in mind I am not a living in the exurbs kind of person but if you like living out where it takes you 30 minutes to get to "the action" and don't mind chain restaurants or "Country cooking" you should be fine. I know that is sounding a little negative in tone but I don't intend it to.

Forestville is part of Anderson Township, around the intersection of Five Mile and Beechmont roads. It's pretty solid suburbia.

Pierce Township is two townships to the east out Ohio Pike, and is a mix of old farm houses, 1950s brick ranches, and 1990s and newer McMansions and townhouses.

Amelia is a small town to the east of Pierce Township. It has a number of issues, most notably perpetual problems with money management, and the controversy over unincorporating itself.

First, the development is called Sherwood FOREST. It is a neighborhood that was built in the 1955-85 time frame. There are roughly 400 homes, many of which were built by Joseph Graue and his son Larry Graue.

Most of the homes are well built with hardwood floors and are generally well maintained. Unlike many new developments, the developer did not rip down every tree in the area. Therefore, many of the lots are wooded.

Houses are very reasonable. Taxes in Anderson are lower than in most incorporated areas.

The neighborhood is about as safe as it gets. Some minor theft and occasionally some other mischief.

The school district is Forest Hills and generally ranks among the best in the state.

Ok now this is the definition of a "High-jack". Wayyyy off topic.. lol

The mere fact the OP mentioned this area would indicate that they are someone who might not want to be near,in, around the "Action".

Anyway, does look to be a nice section to live in. Best of wishes to you and your house hunt.

You might not intend it to sound negative, but it sure does. And just where exactly is The Action? I don't even need an explanation before I know I can do without it. And just exactly what is wrong with Country Cooking?
