Im not the least bit surprised. We have had some dr or nurses who need a new job due to bedside manner but the CARE was 110%.

I am not a big fan of the self aggrandizing heroic presence of CH. Seems like every month they pick some case of extreme pathos evincing a medical miracle they have performed and hold a press conference about what a great job they did putting the nose back on the Afgan toddler or whatnot.

For my part, I see kids wandering around the neighborhood where CH is located who may not need a new nose or to be separated from their siamese twin, but are obviously in need of care.

Do I care if their crack medical team can rebuild a new skull for a Syrian kid who got in the way of an IED for a million bucks or so? Not really. I'd rather think that medical resources would be spent more sensibly than what CH seems to do. And, they need to turn off the cameras. We get it. They are experts, here to help.

I get the risk of over-exposure, but they have to self promote. If they didn't, they wouldn't stand a chance competing with hospitals in bigger cities. The high ranking leads to more research money. One feeds the other.

Ironically, the word "again" in this thread's title meant something different two years ago than it does today, but maybe not all that much. You decide:
"Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, which had been No.3, replaced Cincinnati as No. 2."

I can vouch that both of my twins with special needs have received exceptional care at CCHMC. Coming here from Portland, OR, there is absolutely no contest between the talent, professionalism, attitude, and approach to treatment. I'm certain it is a culturally related thing (west coast just has its own laid back approach), but I am so much happier with the care my kids get here. Doernbecher Children's Hospital might have a pretty campus, but your kids are safer at CCHMC.
