They should rename it "Septemberfest" since they hold it in September instead of October. That would make it unique.

Oktoberfest was originally a Bavarian festival, held over a couple of weeks at the end of September and beginning of October. Any appropriately themed festival during this period is rightly called Oktoberfest.

It's definitely large but it also seems that at least half of the vendors there have nothing to do with Oktoberfest. Get your Cajun Oktoberfest food here! Eh, what?

No matter what, this particular Octoberfest faces major challenges, namely:

(a)The new location. This is the first Octoberfest to be staged at the Banks. Although the Banks successfully hosted the All Star game, this is a larger public gathering;

(b)The weather. Always a key factor, this weekend ain't lookin' too good;

(c)The streetcar. Now comes this new people-mover's first real baptism of fire. Too many people expect it to be the panacea for all things urban in downtown Cincy. From the Cincinnati Business Journal, some helpful advice:
http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnat...ar-during.html

(d)The football game. Thousands of beer drinking Octoberfest fans will be torn between two lovers - the kickoff for the Bengals/Steelers game @ Pittsburgh is 1 PM, Sunday afternoon. Need I say more?

A. More room, easier parking!

B. The weather will be what it will be. Pack a rain poncho to go over your lederhosen.

C.Learning curve

D. Not a problem, the Bengals play the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
