Hi everyone, I will be moving to Cincinnati in June to start a new job at the University Hospital and am trying to figure out where to live. Which is a good & safe area to rent in, considering I'm single and will be living alone? I've heard Hyde Park is good but not very diverse. What about Mt. Adam? Is a fun and safe place for young professionals? Any advice would be greatly appreciated right now. Thanks.

Default goyguy opting out of redundancy...

Mt Adams is "fun" and safe, but you pay for the privilege of living there.
Don't take this the wrong way, but the exact same subject has been broached over and over again and has been thoroughly addressed multiple times in this forum. Look through some of the other threads, then don't hesitate to post any questions that persist. You may even end up in a housing-share situation with one of the others who've posted recently!

Default Move to Cincinnati

You will find many great communites in both Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Try using craigslist for rentals......you can search by area and price. Most ads have pictures of the rentals.

Here is the link.

craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums

if you are looking for diversity, you probably want to try Clifton, which is actually pretty close to the University Hospital and is the location of UC. Most close-by neighborhoods in the east side (mt adams, mt lookout, HP, etc.) have almost no diversity.

You could buy a house in Mt. Lookout or Hyde Park for your price range. It would be a perfect size house for a single person (800-1,200 square feet). A single person doesn't need or want that much space.

Look at Saybrook and Aylesboro avenues in Hyde Park for some examples. There are currently two housed listed for $199k on Ayelsboro, one is a 3 BR/1BA and the other is 2br/1.5ba.

Remember Hyde Park houses will be your best bet to hold their value!!
