I spent a weekend in West Lafayette visiting a couple of my good friends at Purdue...but I barely even remember getting off the plane...seemed nice though.
I voted for Madison since Minneapolis isn't really a traditional college town. Madison has a great vibe and has the potential to be another Portland or Austin in the future. Very progressive, known as the "Berkeley of the Midwest." HempFest. Dane County Farmers' Market (the largest in the nation). Curbside recycling was invented in Madison. Home of the Onion Newspaper. The list goes on. Ann Arbor would be my 2nd choice, very similar to Madison in many ways.
I'm surprised that South Bend, IN (Notre Dame) isn't on the list.
I could live in Columbia, MO. I think it could be the most underrated college town in the U.S.
