Good to know. I think NYC will always be the most popular city to visit. And eek is right, the tourism will skyrocket once the new WTC is built.

School is back in so that is a big reason Orlando is not on the list IMO.

Also the fact that Labor Day falls in the heart of the Hurricane Season; many southeastern resorts suffer as a result of this. Dallas and Houston are still hot this time of year so that hurts their appeal. This applies to a lesser degree to Washington DC, as few outdoor events are scheduled for Labor Day as most head to the Delmarva beaches and other destinations.

I will agree that Southern California is underrated; the water is at the warmest of the season, many kids haven't started school yet, and entertainment personalities are back at work.

What are the slowest / deadest months in Orlando? I once heard it's September-October because U.S. families are back in school and Europeans as well. November-December is supposed to be the busiest months of the year because of the holidays, and then February-March for U.S. spring breaks and April-May for European spring breaks?

June-July-August is just too dang hot. What about January?

st. louis is a very accessible, inexpensive destination with a million things to do. seriously, i moved to stl from philadelphia two years ago and was absolutely floored by this city's offerings. definitely not your typical midwestern city. this place has loads of history, high culture and plenty of recreation. it's a well-kept secret.

i think the reason it made #3 is because st. louis is a big driving destination for midwesterners who want an easy and exciting getaway without spending a fortune.

Los Angeles is awesome. I am tired of the bashing. Now I know why I stopped posting in this forum.
