Downtown Atlanta sucks unless you're counting midtown and Buckhead as part of "downtown".

Who has the best downtown in the south now in 2017. I vote for Atlanta because of the WOC, Georgia Aquarium and the other fantastic museums and places to go. I think the new Mercedes-Benz stadium is incredible.

Many other DT areas are smaller and may seem more lively on a few blocks but don't have the number or quality of amenities.

It's still New Orleans.

.

These days I'm sure it's Downtown Miami. That area has been pulling away from the other Downtowns of the South for more than a decade now. For me it wins by default just based on the sheer building density alone. Can anyone show me anything remotely close to what is in the videos below anywhere else in the South? This video doesn't even show the whole skyline and it still shows unprecedented building density for the South. It now has a full time population of over 90,000 and has the highest population density in the South by far. If you added in all the tourists to that count it would be even higher. Post some videos if you do not agree with me and let others decide.

Baltimore can make a strong case with its attractions, activities, population, history, waterfront, structural density, neighborhoods.

Baltimore is in the South? Does that mean D.C. is in the South also?

Nah I personally have New Orleans, Nashville, Charleston, and a few other Southern cities have better Downtowns than Miami, so idk how exactly Miami's pulling away

Nashville and Charleston? Haha that's a good one. Hey I guess we all have our own opinions right? Feel free to post some videos of those Downtowns if you'd like.
