That's not Chicago. That's 4 hours away. But everything is relative to Chicago.
It seems like anyone from Illinois is just always from Chicago. Not a diss to other Illini

Why so much hatred for Mississippi? I think Mississippi is a very nice state. A lot nicer than Alabama or Georgia or South Carolina, an probably better than Arkansas unless you like mountains.

About 67% (~ 8.7 million people of 13 million in the state), actually. Certainly not 80% (10.3 million people).

Most states are truly nothing without their principal city. Only a few states are the exception to this rule.

Very true, but everyone seems to pick on Georgia, Savannah is amazing, Augusta is almost 600k, Columbus has Fort Benning, Macon is charming. Athens is growing like gang busters...So yes "Virginia" GA does have other cities,,,,Atlanta is not the only choice,

Not true of NY. Despite its dominance, if NYC was not in NY, the state would still have a significant population, economy and urban presence. Same would be true of PA without Philadelphia and FL without Jax or Miami (your pick), or CA without LA.

Chicagoland. Most people don't know Elmwood Park from Skokie from Mount Prospect.

Similar to LA, where everyone says LA, unless they are in LA.

Same with Dallas, which also includes Plano, Carrollton, Grand Prairie.
