By population, Northeastern China can more than just rival Bos-Wash in the same given land area, it will quite possibly exceed it by millions, same given with Northern India. But that's the only metric, by population otherwise Japan & United States have the most formidable Mega Regions.

The island of Java would also be up there in terms of population (greater than the population of all of Japan, not just the Taiheyo Belt) as would the Sichuan basin in China and the areas surrounding the Nile River. The Blue Banana is also fairly apparent on that map (and that one can compete with the Taiheyo Belt and the BosWash corridor in more than just population and light pollution).
