come back when Dallas has an internationally recognized catch phrase.

How about:

We are nothing without Fort Worth.

At Least SF is still SF without the Bay, and Miami is still Miami without the rest of SoFlo. Boston is still Boston without the rest of its metro.
Exaggerate all you want. Youre just trying to get a rise out of me. But it doesnt matter since these are all just opinions.

By the way, I have lived outside the US (Japan, Hong Kong, and Brazil). My opinion is in large based on that.

Weve said our pieces now we should let it go.

Dallas absolutely blows Houston out of the water in terms of positive international recognition. People "recognize" Houston internationally as being a dump and a place in the US to avoid if possible. Comparatively speaking, people see Dallas as cosmopolitan and glamorous and wealthy - which is very far from reality, but it is the perception.

In defense of Houston - the city definitely has a better third world vibe than any other city in the US, so it certainly feels "international" (not in a good way), but nonetheless is far from being recognized in a good way like Dallas. Dallas is more like Atlanta - a city with a real international reputation. Houston is an afterthought.

That's why this is one topic where I rely more on polls and surveys where they actually talk to people as opposed to my own homerism and personal opinion.
well IMO any survey that puts Sydney above NYC or SF above LA in name recognition is obviously asking the wrong people, I mean c'mon NYC and LA are probably the only 2 cities in this world recognized just by their initials alone.

Ask the eastern world and the list might include Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth.
