Let's be clear, Philly isn't in DC's ballpark so talking about Philly in this discussion is a waist of time. Philly used to be really powerful, we no longer live in that time period anymore. It's all history now.
Philly is still really powerful, they control the people through television. NBCUniversal and Comcast control the propaganda machine. Plus it makes drugs and refines oil. Compared to DC Philly is a hustler and DC is some chic who collects an ssi check.
I definely agree that the process was different. DC was built to be the capital. That is why it is so sacred. It was established to rule over the entire country. Funny thing is, that is not what happened. It became a prison camp instead shackling its residents every move while stealing food from their mouths without proper compensation. Controlling every aspect of their lives as their citizens need permission just to breath. Finally that dictatorship is coming to an end as DC is gaining it's own power finally and taking its rightful place near the head of the table.
What.
Have you ever lived under a real dictatorship before? What the hell was that about?

Philly definely does the dirty work to sit at the table. But in the company hierarchy, DC sits on the board of directors, Philly makes the product on the assembly line. Both have their roles but their importance is extremely different.

So you don't agree congress acts as a dictator for the district? We didn't vote for them. We have no power or say in what they do. We are powerless. We pay taxes and we still have no representation. What would you call it? They "congressional dictators" even approve our budget from our taxes! We can't even spend our own money how we want to. What would you call it?

all your money comes from them, you wouldn't have any money if it wasn't for them

A federal district? There's less self-governance, but the way you worded it made it sound like a colonial enterprise from the 19th century. It's not as if DC suffered from a far greater share of disinvestment than other major cities or that it didn't get any preferential treatment in some regards.

Today is April 29th 2012 and the citizens in Washington DC have no representation in the United States of America and they have to pay the same taxes as all of you. What kind of excuse are you going to make about tomorrow April 30th 2012 when we all wake up to the same reality?
Also, what are your views on voting for congress? Important...... not important....? What do you think? Just wondering since I have never experienced it. We don't have senators or house representatives! We have never experienced this democratic nation you all profess too.
O ok, so that is why we have no representation in America? Did I read that correctly?
