Which ones? Name the NY suburbs that have the kind of modern, amenity-laden apartment buildings that you see all over Bethesda, Chevy Chase and the Ballston-Clarendon corridor? Most NY suburbs with TOD feature ugly, early to mid-century apt blocks (with a few exception like the Trump Tower in New Rochelle, White Plains and Stamford). The closest that you get to a Bethesda in NY is White Plains but even it is way too ghetto compared to Bethesda.

No, you have no idea what you're talking about. I have never parked in a Metro garage, yet I have used Metro hundreds of times. You just park in a regular garage, all of which serve the Metro riders.

How do you think the people get to the Metro? They're walking five miles down freeway overpasses?

No, they are walking from their high-rise's or taking the bus. Have you ever been to any of these station's? There is no parking for them.

Oh, like when I was in Manhattan and parked in a garage and then got on the train. You can do that anywhere.

Who in their right mind pays $20 a day to park in the garage and pays for metro when you can just drive into downtown D.C. and pay $20 a day to actually park where you work?

I was just in eastern Fairfax County. There's residential streets that look like rural Virginia towns. No sidewalks, very low density.

Honestly, your post is just stupid.

First, you answer your own question by stating places that are actually much better and more urban than Bethesda (places like White Plains, Stamford, and New Rochelle, but there are obviously dozens others), then you conclude that these don't "count" because you consider them "way too ghetto".

What exactly is "ghetto" about these places, BTW? Neiman Marcus and Saks are ghetto? Trump Tower is ghetto? Ritz Carlton is ghetto? Multimillion apartments are ghetto? The world's biggest hedge fund is ghetto?

Huh? 66 is the only freeway near Rosslyn - Ballston corridor and it's in a trench. WTF are you talking about? The area is urban and very walkable for a suburb.

There is tons of parking for all of them. 100% of these stations have tons of parking.

How do you think people get to the station? Downtown Bethesda doesn't even have 10% of the Bethesda population. How are people supposed to get to work?

The area is very suburban and not very walkable. Sidewalks are uncommon in North Arlington.
