That team is still in the New York Market Area.

You expect New Yorkers to go to New Jersey to watch a New Jersey team?
Yep, just like fans in South Jersey go across the bridge to Philly. Not to mention you guys have much better mass transit options than we they do downstate so that's not really an excuse for New Yorkers.

Looks like a lameduck season to me, since they moved to Brooklyn.
But a couple of posts ago you were so quick to pull out the attendance stats. I guess using the stats are not as fun when it's used against a New York area team.

That shouldnt matter.

Unless there is terrible ownership that causes the fanbase to stray, but the Sixers dont have terrible ownership.

That's just one team though. Philly went over 25 years without winning a championship with any of its teams. I'm sorry but there's just no comparison.

New Jersey teams arent New York teams though.

What New Yorker is jumping over another to go see a New Jersey team play in New Jersey? Especially over the Knicks?

You should ask people from New Jersey why nobody showed up. My guess? Lameduck season, although I dont really know because their attendance was never that good before either.

Theyre in Brooklyn now anyway.

Couldn't that have been the case for the 76ers poor attendance when Ed Snider was the owner?

It's doesn't matter, they are still part of the New York City market. There is no getting around that basic fact. If you are going to say Philly doesn't support their NBA team than you have to admit that people in the NYC don't support their NBA team also.

No comparison?

Phillies got their championship in 2008.

Cubs are still waiting over a generation.

Ed's the man, don't throw him under the bus. The Eagles are popular in spite of Lurie, we should run his ass outa town.

The Phils went 100 years before their first World Series. For over 50 years during that time, there was a second baseball team in the city that won 5.

Ed Snider is probably one of the better owners in sports.

Look at the Flyers.
