I should note that until the mid 90's, Connecticut had a pro sports team (Hartford Whalers/NHL) but they moved to Raleigh and became the Carolina Hurricanes

SC should be grouped with having 1 pro sports team. The Carolina Panthers play in NC, but represent both states as a whole. Fans are spread throughout SC and the team has it's summer camp in SC as well.

True, but they represent the NYC metropolitan area. This is no different then the Redskins playing in Landover, MD and no one thinks that Maryland actually has two NFL teams, even if it technically does.

No, pretty sure there are only 8. 5 teams in Philadelphia and 3 teams in Pittsburgh. Am I missing something?

Philadelphia Phillies
Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Flyers
Philadelphia 76ers
Philadelphia Union
Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh Penguins
Pittsburgh Pirates

He must be counting the Arena Football League Philadelphia Soul as a "pro" team. I personally don't, but hey, there's always that embarrassing billboard on 95 to remind everyone of Philly's winningest team since 2004.
