This reaffirms my feelings as an Georgian. New York and Georgia are two VERY connected states. New York and Atlanta have a big brother/little brother relationship and there are subtle signs of this relationship in Atlanta. Perhaps it's not noticeable to outsiders but Atlantan's know what I'm speaking of.

And someone on here said a long while back that Dallas is quickly turning into another Los Angeles. Well, according to this, there has to be something in Dallas that Californians like or at least that's the assumption that can be made based off this.

This is very telling, particularly the Philadelphia/Atlanta interaction, but not surprising in any sense.
I think a lot of this has to do with hubs really
Would need to look at the O&D numbers
Delta and whatever value jet ius these days run flughts to thier hubs all day long on Delta
Am sure the number are high for PHL/ATL but would really need to look at non connecting passengers
Probably a ton of NYC to LA is O&D etc.
PHL to Chicag is the same, between United, American, US Air, and Southwest there must be a Philly to Chicago flight every 20-30 minutes from 6AM till like 9PM - while much is destination a lot connects via hibs

Meaning NYC is a top market among nearly all cities. Just looking at NYC to SF for example, less passenger but would bet more O&D non connecting in this case
Though am sure ATL to NYC is large, NYC is about the largest market for nearly any city
