Absolutely agree with both you and Ankhharu. As a former Salt Laker, I definitely remember SLC being a 49ers town.

Heck, I was born in Denver and was an SF fan in the '60s when I lived there. I think prior to the merger, the NFL had more televised games, larger markets and a stronger fan base than the AFL.

And in later years, Steve Young (BYU) furthered that support.
