Quebec City's winter carnival is actually an event meant to celebrate Mardi Gras in a winter climate setting:

The official Carnaval song actually mentions Mardi Gras in the refrain.

For the fourth, I say DC. Not only does the mall have fireworks which are great, you can have your own lol. Fun night two weeks ago.

Christmas, I say Chicago but I will like anywhere it would snow.

Memorial Day, Miami.

New Year's Day...it doesn't matter.

That would be me. Grew up in Yardley, PA and in LA for almost 30 years now. One of the firs timages from the first link is Afton Lake, a/k/a Yardley Pond.

I remember reading an article years ago with best places in the US for each season, and Bucks County was their pick for fall, spring was Marin County, CA. I don't recall summer and winter.

New Orleans for Halloween and Mardi Gras
New York City for New Years
Honolulu for Christmas...I know, it isn't the typical White Christmas stuff, but you get a nice tropical vacation, and there is just something delightful about a Hawaiian Christmas. Can't imagine why anyone would go to frigid Chicago during that time of year.

St. Patty's Day in Boston or Chicago
Labor Day in Los Angeles-typically the weather on the beach is the best during this time, along with the warmest water temps of the year.

Easter in Washington DC for the cherry blossoms
July 4 in DC or Philly.
Cinco de Mayo in San Diego

Columbus Day: Columbus, OH (At least football season is in full swing for OSU)

Veterans' Day: Orlando (nice time of to visit before the holiday crowds)
Thanksgiving: New York
Christmas: Chicago
New Year's Eve: Miami (nice and warm!)
Seattle? I always had the impression they weren't too patriotic there. Am I wrong?

Denver has the biggest St. Patrick's Day parade west of the Mississippi.
Always lots of protests at the Columbus Day parade.

Can't think of anything for Labor Day
Good list!

For Labor Day what about one of the Rust Belt cities, since (I believe) it was the excessive labor conditions during the Industrial Era that led to the 40-hour workweek conditions and employee privileges we have today.

Yeah, I was thinking Pittsburgh for Labor Day, though having grown up there, they didn't have much of a celebration IIRC.
