That's because Texas cites are all regrettably, in Texas.
You can't separate the city and the state.
Seattle, Portland, Denver all get 10 free points on the board simply for being in geographically interesting locations.
Texas cities, along with most of the midwest cites are for true city dwellers.
Everyone has a bike path on a river walk or some water body where I can drop a boat. I think most Millennials are looking for something a little more.
Although, the bats under the Congress bridge are pretty cool.

That's because of jobs and cheaper houses. In a world where the majority if people have little money, the fastest growing regions will always be the cheapest one that offers the most potential for job security. If it were all about living in our most desired locations, then we'd all own a condo on the beach in Hawaii. Aloha!
