ND does not have the biggest economy. The 6.3 is a change in economy not the size of economy. Smaller economies reflect changes easier than larger ones.

If ND is a 5 and NY is a 50 and both increase by 1, that amounts to a 20% for ND AND ONLY 2% FOR NYS.

DC is a beast for being a small land area city but hanging with whole states at 115 Billion. I wish the data for cities were posted. I would think that only New York, LA, Chicago and Houston would outrank DC.

I Guess NY city would be easy to calculate since they do GDP by county. Cook, Los Angeles and Harris have other cities contributing to the economy.

Is there a list of the top Counties by GDP?

Bea.gov does NOT report gdp by county, just metro area(msa)
