I'm with you for most of this, but on the latter portion, you're wrong. You would need a special, localized hot dog, a certain kind of bun, and some pretty specific ingredients, to make the Chicago dog you find in the region.
So are the Vienna Beef hot dogs sold in Chicago different than the Vienna Beef hot dogs I can buy anywhere else in the grocery store?
And I love Chicago-style dogs, they might be my favorite hot dog style, though I'm just curious if people really believe they can't be duplicated outside Chicago.
