Buffalo -- I'd rather have access to the decent city amenities, affordable COL and outdoors that Buffalo offers than live in the mess that is Urban Northern NJ. I'd be closer to most of my family in Buffalo as well.
Even though Stockbridge is under an hour from Albany & 2 hrs from Boston, I’ll go with Staunton, VA.
Staunton because it has lower cost of living, bigger town, close to national parks, under 2 hrs from Richmond, & a little over 2 & a half hrs from DC. Plus I think Staunton looks nicer based on the images I saw.
Tyler. More accessible within its region and more diverse population.
