That one pic of Hong Kong with all the searchlights is not normal, it doesnt look like that everynight. Must have been a festival going on or something.... As for HK's skyline, it has too much color, looks silly/tacky, IMO.

Anyways, this poll is too hard. As much as I despise Vegas' retarded skyline, you have to admit that it looks pretty sweet at night from a distance. However, my vote goes for Paris. Most beautiful city in the world (architecture wise), with gorgeous lighting and nothing too flashy or obnoxious. The Eiffel Tower is lit up, and some might say its gaudy, but to me its the perfect finishing touch on a gorgeous city.

Am I the only one who finds Hong Kong's skyline (at night only) to be hideous??? Ugh. Neon yellows, reds, oranges, pinks, blues, etc. What an eyesore! Doesnt look classy whatsoever IMO.

I do agree with you. There is no denying that Hong Kong has a beautiful skyline, but I think it looks tacky at night.

here's a quote that discribes my feelings toward the HK night skyline from someone at ssp

Quote:
HK has a great night skyline, maybe the best in the world. But, to me, that's in spite of the circus colors it rolls out at night. Hong Kong at night made me feel like I was in Disney World, not a real world-class city. Those lights are gimmicky- why don't they just have fireworks and music playing every night and just get it over with. Maybe a 700 foot water slide. It already feels like enough of a joke.

It's like New York and Chicago are the guys in a nice Armani suit and HK is dressed like Aerosmith in concert.

Give me classy "boring" lights any day.
but i feel right now HK has the best day skyline tied with NY

I picked Chicago on the list of cities (support the Midwest lol). But Cincy has a great night skyline. Cincinnati does a great job of lighting up their skyline at night.

I vote Dallas, TX. I am suprised its not on the list. It definately has the most beautiful night skyline in the southern United States.

Miami shouldn't even be on the list. It's very dark with all those vacant condo highrises.
