Pac was West, simple as that.
Seriously. He adopted it fully.

I don't know......but I can listen to Detroit rappers and find myself content that I need to search no further.

Some D town underground is DBC (BYLUG) and Cash Kidd (new young kid).

Every song that you just posted was pure garbage except the last one by Jon Connor. John Connor is nice.

Garbage is normative for the industry these days. I am just pointing out that the D has some of the most lyrical garbage spitters out there.....lol.

That said. There are a lot of good rappers period in SE Michigan.

The industry only promotes the garbage though. The conscious stuff does not get the hits and play.

But for those who dissent:

The D got these rappers to pay you a visit:

I tend to listen to the instrumentals of a lot of hip hop to avoid the garbage and one of my favorite producers are Apollo Brown and Black milk, also D boys. They blend in that old SOUL sound.

I am not claiming that the D is better than any other place.....I am just claiming that I can find what I need from D music...without having to search some place else.

NYC
Philly
Detroit
Chicago/LA
Atlanta
New Orleans
Houston
Miami
I wouldn't put Houston above Philly myself. But if you take in the underground and mainstream, I'd put it above Atlanta and New Orleans. More lyrical rappers in Houston just most on the underground and I'm not talking about SUC and swishahouse either.

Lil Wayne hasn't really been relevant since 6 foot 7 foot and that's going on five years ago and curren$y is mostly underground. If you count curren$y, you might as well count ASAP Rocky. But when you're talking about an entire scene, not just the music, no isn't above NYC.

I agree with that too. I've never been a fan of lil Wayne. Ever. ASAP Rocky is heavily influenced by the south, particularly Houston, so if he lifts NYC stature in rap, he would also lift Houston's by default. Back to Lil Wayne.. He's almost always on the radio if not only for his own singles, but other artist as well; currently he's on Monica's new single. Nobody from NYC not named Nicki Minaj is getting much airplay except in the NYC area. Philly falls into the same category as NYC, aside from Meek Mill, Philly artist don't get spins outside of the Philly region. That's the reason why NYC, Philly, and I'm also adding Toronto back to the same tier because of Drake.

That's a fair assessment. I just downloaded Jadakiss' new album that everyone's raving about (not bad so far), and I've never even heard the Future-assisted single ever played on Power 99. I think hip hop as a whole is suffering on radio/sales (unless your name is Future, Fetty Wap, Drake, Nicki or Rae Sremmurd), and definitely needs something BIG to happen soon (like a new Jay or Kanye album). Even NYC is struggling--seems like radio (I know, I know, underground, but that takes effort. When I'm driving, I do just like to turn on the radio to see what's buzzing/payola paid for) is just a collection of one-hit garbage singers and Drake/Future features.
