If you were in your 20s, didn't mind intense heat, and wanted somewhere with a good job market/decent nightlife, where would you choose?

Most people would pick their favorite place (out of that list, for me it would be Ft. Lauderdale) and try to find a job there that pays what they think they are worth. If they can't find a job there, they will move.

So your question is not very practical, but if I was in my early 20s, and someone asked me to pick between those 3 places, it would be Ft. Lauderdale, and if I didn't find a job that suited me I would move.

I do agree that probably out of the 3, South Florida has the worst job market for white collar professionals, and Houston probably has the best. But that doesn't mean you can't land a good job.

Scottsdale (neighboring suburb to Phoenix). Good job market and tons of nightlife.

Fort Lauderdale. Houston and Phoenix seem pretty boring.

Scottsdale/Tempe or Fort Laudy .

Houston is a fine city and probably has the best economy though.
